Abstract
A faucet assembly includes a body having a handle pivotably connected thereon, a hot water connection end and a cold water connection end are located at two ends of the body. An outlet pipe is located between the hot water connection end and the cold water connection end. A coating is coated on the body and composed of temperature-sensible or light-sensible material. The coating changes its color according to temperature of the water passing through the outlet pipe or type of light so that the users are acknowledged the status of the water coming from the faucet assembly.
Description
- (1) Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a faucet assembly with a coating which turns specific color according the temperature of water passing through the faucet assembly.
- (2) Description of the Prior Art
- A conventional faucet assembly generally includes a valve unit received therein which controls volume of hot water and cold water passing through the valve unit. The user operates the handle of the faucet assembly to rotate the valve unit which allows the hot and cold water to pass through the valve unit in desired proportion so as to obtain water of different temperature. The conventional way to indicate the hot water and cold water by marking a red mark and a blue mark on the faucet assembly so that when the user operates the handle toward the red mark direction, hot water passes through the valve unit at a larger amount than the cold water. However, some users do not notice the red and blue markings and might wrongly operate the handle and get hurt by hot water.
- The present invention intends to provide a faucet assembly which has a coating on the outer surface thereof and the coating changes its color according to the temperature of the water passing through the faucet assembly. The users are acknowledged the temperature of the water by the large area of coloring on the faucet.
- The present invention relates to a faucet assembly which comprises a body having a handle pivotably connected thereon, a hot water connection end and a cold water connection end are located at two ends of the body. An outlet pipe is located between the hot water connection end and the cold water connection end. A coating is coated on the body and composed of temperature-sensible or light-sensible material.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
-
FIG. 1 is a perspective view to show the faucet assembly of the present invention; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view to show that the faucet assembly of the present invention has a coating thereon; -
FIG. 3 shows a part of the faucet assembly with the coating; -
FIG. 4 shows a part of the faucet assembly with the coating which is composed of three basic color materials; -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view to show that cold water goes out from the outlet pipe and the coating displays a specific color, and -
FIG. 6 is a perspective view to show that hot water goes out from the outlet pipe and the coating displays another specific color. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 to 3 , thefaucet assembly 10 of the present invention comprises a body having ahandle 16 pivotably connected thereon which is directly connected to a valve unit (not shown) received in the body. A hotwater connection end 12 and a coldwater connection end 14 are located at two ends of the body, and anoutlet pipe 18 is located between the hotwater connection end 12 and the coldwater connection end 14. A filteringmember 20 is connected to the outlet of theoutlet pipe 18 to filter the water coming from theoutlet pipe 18. - A
coating 30 is coated on the body and composed of temperature-sensible or light-sensible material. The area that thecoating 30 is coated can be decided according to practical needs, such as on the whole surface of the body or only on theoutlet pipe 18. - The
coating 30 may indicate asingle color 31 or threebase color materials FIG. 4 . If the threebase color materials coating 30, thecoating 30 can display many colors. Thecoating 30 may also include a florescent material which allows the color to be clearly seen in dark area. Therefore, when hot water coming from theoutlet pipe 18, thecoating 30 turns into red (for example) and the user is acknowledged clearly. - When the
coating 30 is composed of light-sensible material, thecoating 30 changes its color by light such as infra-red or ultraviolet. Thefaucet assembly 10 automatically changes its color to enrich the elements of interior decoration. - While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
