The street Level Art Space, described as a delightfully awkward wedge-shaped space dedicated to the art of the pop-up and a quintessential cornerstone of modern pop culture; opened to make room for local talents, will be host to a free drinks and music event. A celebration of cool sounds and cocktails fusing Good Kid Bad Students commitment to fostering a thriving underground electronic music culture fused with a selection of Avoca’s signature cocktails. 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 – 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱. 𝗕𝘆 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 Creator • Dreamer • Artist Dutch born Ruben de Haas was commissioned to create a series of twelve “Mixing Pixels” artworks, based on classic Hong Kong films, to compliment the twelve suites of Mondrian Hong Kong. The combination of his playful and intuitive personality, his love for colour and his curiosity to explore shapes, materials and new techniques, resulted in these vibrant metallic pieces as a homage to the city and its wonderful people and culture. Ruben transformed a selection of Iconic movie stills (like Maggie Cheung from In the Mood for Love) reshaped, distorted and recomposed them, creating beautiful new perspectives for this ever-evolving city.
