If there were still any questions regarding the overplayed narrative that Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant can't coexist as teammates, it was answered once again on Wednesday.

Two days after Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban gave his opinion regarding Westbrook's superstar status (or lack thereof) and Durant came to Westbrook's defense in the press conference after the team's series-clinching Game 5 win, Westbrook expressed what it meant to him that Durant had his back.

“It's very important,” Westbrook said, per The Oklahoman. “Me and Kevin's relationship is great. He's like my brother. We talk about different stuff, not just basketball related. He's always gonna have my back and I'll always have his.”

The Oklahoma City Thunder superstars have proven time and time again that they can in fact coexist, both on and off the court, and this is yet another example.

With Durant's free agency period fast approaching and a Western Conference semifinals matchup with the 67-win San Antonio Spurs just days away, Westbrook's words and the seemingly unbreakable bond between the two couldn't come at a more opportune time for Thunder nation.
