scene in “Parasite”, a hit South Korean film, a young woman from a poor family forges a university-enrolment certificate for her brother. He is about to apply for a job tutoring a girl from a rich family and hopes that the false credential will improve his chances. But when he shows up to the interview the girl’s mother barely glances at it, telling him she trusts him because he was recommended by her daughter’s previous tutor—his only posh friend, who has left to study abroad.
For many South Koreans, the story carries echoes of the scandal that brought down Park Geun-hye, the previous president, whose closest confidante persuaded a university to change its admissions criteria to admit her daughter. Outraged students, in particular, have been protesting against Mr Cho’s appointment. “I don’t mind the system being competitive, but it’s the hypocrisy that’s so galling,” says Lee Jong-bae, who is campaigning to reform university admissions.
The official youth unemployment rate reached 10.4% this summer. But that does not include those so discouraged that they have stopped looking for work, and those who undertook further studies to put off looking for a job. If these groups are taken into account, some economists reckon, the true unemployment rate for young people may be as high as 25%.
Bravos! Could we have finally grown out of seeing white teenage boy fantasies as the standard to measure film by?
'a satirical film' ? It's a mockumentary. Not a film.
Can they clean their home?
Don't worry. I'm sure the USA will win the race to the bottom soon.
The world would be left more stable for the next generations if everyone stayed put and didn’t strive to accumulate a hoard of wealth, luxuries, and indulgence. There would be time with space leftover for saving seeds and creating the profound, with a quest for spiritual growth.

I believe that most young (and a bit older, even) Americans also have great evidence around them -- everywhere -- that they will also NOT move up the social ladder.
A realistic country. Why dont we admit the what the evidence points towards too.. your lot in when you come in to this world is highly likely to be your lot when you go out of this world, wide social economical mobility is an illusion.
So do young Hongkongers!
Not if they take toilet selfies.
It is Monopoly system yes like Game. From G parents to parents, it is all family owned busineses. One Samsung, Korean Airlines, etc
If you believe you can’t do something, you’ll never be able to do it.
We feel ya 👍
the same is right for this country, excepting some quantity of idiots thinking they will be Rap stars. number of new millonairs in US is worser than in EU, Russia, China and many others. US is the biggest social ghetto in the world.
While in USA, a delusional 86% think they can, but 99.9% actually can't.
