Some OnePlus 6T users have complained of display issues on their smartphones wherein there is an abrupt 'wave' of pixels flashing for a split-second. The issue has been reported by a handful of users on OnePlus forums and has even been captured on video. From the looks of it, there appears to be a quick wave of pixels flashing travelling from top to bottom of the display and has been often spotted on the lock screen.
OnePlus 6T display issue is not an isolated incident and is not specific to any particular variant of the OnePlus 6T. Those with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage as well as those with 8GB RAM+ 128GB storage have encountered the issue on their OnePlus 6T smartphone. Our review unit did not exhibit the issue and we suspect it is limited to a few handsets.
According to the user MuktiAksoy on OnePlus forums, "Basically what happens is when the screen is on (mostly after a screen unlock), there is a wave of pixels turning pink/purple throughout the screen..." the user notes on the forums. Another user by the name imattv4 writes, "I just witnessed what you are referring to. Except mine just went from the bottom near the edge of where the keyboard is, and up just a bit." Factory resetting the smartphone does not appear to solve the problem and it could be a hardware-specific issue.
Meanwhile, OnePlus 6T McLaren Limited Edition smartphone with 10GB of RAM is scheduled to launch on December 12 in India. The limited edition smartphone may come with the McLaren branding and possibly a gradient decal. OnePlus 6T McLaren edition may feature a custom theme along with accent colours and a new clock design. We're also expecting the smartphone to launch with faster Dash Charge capabilities as seen on the Oppo Find X Lamborghini Edition.
